Pure Lands omniverse

The Manifesto

Commitment to Review and Sign the ManifestoDevelopers across all metaverses of the PureLand Omniverse are required to review and sign the manifesto to ensure alignment with the ecosystem's values, mission, and principles.

  • RationaleUnity of Values: The manifesto embodies the core principles of PureLand—nonviolence (ahimsa), mindfulness, sustainable development, and spiritual harmony—rooted in Buddhist science and the traditions of Emperor Ashoka (3rd century BCE). Signing the manifesto confirms a developer’s commitment to these values, preventing discrepancies in approaches across metaverses.
  • Ecosystem Integrity: Signing ensures that each metaverse (e.g., ShaolinPathVerse, NalandaMetaviharaVerse) integrates into the unified economy (KARMA tokens, DAO voting) and upholds PureLand’s mission as an ethical digital environment.
  • Developer Responsibility: The act of signing symbolizes developers’ acknowledgment of their role in creating a space for spiritual growth, beyond mere commercial products, aligning with Buddhist economics.
  • Conflict Prevention: The manifesto minimizes the risk of developing mechanics or content that contradict Dharma (e.g., aggression, commercialization), which could disrupt community harmony.

Process of Review and SigningReview:

  • The manifesto is published on the DharmaLink platform and in the central metaverse LotusCrossroad as an interactive document (text, VR presentation).
  • Developers are required to study it before starting work on a metaverse. VR sessions with masters from AshokaVerse are organized to explain the principles (e.g., nonviolence in game mechanics).

Signing:

  • Signing is executed via a smart contract on Solana, requiring a symbolic contribution of 10 KARMA tokens.
  • Upon signing, the developer receives a digital certificate (NFT "Guardian of Dharma"), confirming their commitment to PureLand principles.
  • Note: Until the smart contract is released, a temporary form of signing is used (described below). Updates about the smart contract and NFT will be announced to the community.

Signing process (temporary form):

1. Introduction: Read the manifesto in its entirety.

2. Signing: Go to the questionnaire and fill out the form indicating your skills and role. This is a temporary measure until the smart contract is released.

3. Confirmation: After the data is verified by the moderator, you will have access to closed development groups. The Dharma Guardian NFT will be released later with integration into the Solana blockchain.

4. Future integration: After the smart contract is released (planned for the future), the signature will be added to the blockchain, and the Dharma Guardian NFT will become a digital certificate of commitment.

Monitoring:

  • The High Council of Dharmic Wisdom (AshokaVerse) and the High Council of Harmony and Protection (ShaolinPathVerse) oversee compliance through regular audits (e.g., reviewing mechanics for adherence to ahimsa).
  • Violations (e.g., introducing aggressive quests) may result in temporary restrictions on KARMA token access or exclusion from the ecosystem.

Reviewing and signing the manifesto is a mandatory requirement for developers to ensure value alignment, ecosystem integrity, and adherence to PureLand’s mission. The process is integrated into the digital infrastructure (smart contracts, NFTs) and supported by spiritual leaders, ensuring transparency and ethics.

The Manifesto of the PureLand Omniverse

A Word from the Creators and Guardians of Dharma:

We, the PureLand team, inspired by the teachings of the Buddha and modern technologies, are creating a space where everyone—gamers, scholars, or truth-seekers—becomes a traveler on the path to Enlightenment. Following the Bodhisattva vow, we aim to guide all beings toward liberation, transforming suffering into wisdom through mindful gameplay.

As the great master Nagarjuna said:

“May bodhicitta, precious and sublime,

Arise where it has not yet arisen;

And where it has arisen, may it not fade,

But grow and flourish evermore.

As long as space endures,

As long as there are beings to be found,

May I remain here,

To dispel the sorrows of the world.”

Our vow is embodied in game quests, where every action—from helping another player to planting a virtual tree—becomes a step toward harmony, leading to the Pure Lands of Buddha Amitabha. We, the sons and daughters of Dharma, invite you to join this journey.

1. Vision: The PureLand Omniverse

We are creating the PureLand Omniverse—an ecosystem of 21+ metaverses, each reflecting a unique spiritual or cultural tradition (AshokaVerse, ShaolinPathVerse, SanskritSamadhiVerse, GreatRingVerse, VeganVerse, ChessVerse, and more). This is a space where players, guided by the Four Noble Truths and the Noble Eightfold Path, transform suffering into liberation through mindful gameplay.

PureLand is not just a game but a tool for awakening, where virtual and physical worlds enrich each other. Buddhist practices with a history of over 2,500 years (meditation, medicine, qigong, sutra study) are woven into game mechanics, while cutting-edge technologies—quantum, Web3 (Solana, Dfinity), neural networks, IoT—serve the Dharma, fostering a society of abundance and co-creation.

The game’s infrastructure includes an autonomous and sustainable life-support system for the gaming community, built on the principles of Dharma and Buddhist economics: the wisdom of ancient times combined with the forefront of science, including quantum technologies. In the physical realm, using the best available health-preserving and eco-friendly technologies, we create autonomous eco-settlements and cities—Places of the Path or “Buddha Fields”—pure dimensions crafted by the enlightened. Thus, the technologies of Buddhist science create a digital and physical space where technology serves the awakening of consciousness, not mere entertainment.

Players do not escape reality but transform it through mindfulness: each quest (e.g., planting a virtual garden) can lead to real-world actions (eco-technological modernization of eco-settlements), and each meditation improves health, tracked via biometrics. Every player participates in the development of an indie game as a tester or developer.

Goals:

  • Address the vital needs of players (physical and spiritual), guiding them toward health, Enlightenment, and biological immortality through integrative Buddhist medicine.
  • Create an autonomous and sustainable infrastructure uniting digital spaces and physical Places of the Path (eco-settlements, retreat centers), built on Dharma and Buddhist economics principles.
  • Transform reality through mindfulness: virtual quests (e.g., garden planting) sync with real actions (eco-technological modernization of eco-settlements), while meditations enhance health via biometrics.

Each player receives a Buddava—a game account reflecting their spiritual progress, skills, and community contributions. It stores acquired NFT artifacts, certificates, and diplomas (e.g., from training programs at the University of Nalanda or Shaolin Monastery). Here, science and Dharma merge into a unified system of knowledge, and players become creators of a new reality grounded in compassion, wisdom, and nonviolence.

In co-creation and harmony with nature, we collectively build a path to liberation from the suffering of aging, illness, and death for all. Integrative Buddhist medicine, incorporating the latest advancements, is applied throughout the game’s infrastructure and neuro-spiritual interfaces, enabling deep immersion and real-time feedback (tracking progress, energy levels, and the health of all organs and systems). This allows for personalized learning trajectories, game mechanics, and health programs (including nutrition and training regimes) to achieve healthy longevity, Enlightenment, and immortality.

Inspired by the teachings of the Pure Lands (Sukhavati) of Buddha Amitabha, the Buddhist Omniverse serves as a skillful means (upaya), where mindful gameplay rooted in Dharma transforms suffering into liberation, and collaboration fosters a society of abundance.

Why is this more than a game?

In PureLand, there are no losers—only stages on the path. KARMA tokens cannot be lost, only mindfully spent. The goal is not victory but infinite self-improvement through the gamification of spiritual practices, ecological initiatives, and creativity. Players can compete in:

  • Spiritual achievements (meditation, sutra study, “Master of Dharma” level).
  • Ecological missions (ecosystem restoration, recycling).
  • Creativity (creating NFTs, locations).
  • Scientific marathons (ethical R&D).

Players foster mutual support, collaboratively developing the game’s infrastructure. Dharma teachers, during the design and implementation of game mechanics, ensure that proposed additions, including games and quests, promote the development of wisdom and compassion. Game practices help deepen the understanding of Dharma and progress along the Noble Eightfold Path. Rewards (unique NFTs and KARMA tokens) and statuses are not for showing superiority but for motivation, enhancing mindfulness and co-creation, and inspiring others by example.

Access:

PureLand is accessible via browsers, VR headsets, mobile devices (iOS, Android), and IoT consoles (Torch of Dharma, Aurovisor, Vimanas), which enhance immersion and track progress.

Players acquire consoles through participation in ethical R&D quests or by donating to support game infrastructure development. Such actions leave a karmic imprint, reflected in the game account as KARMA tokens and NFT achievement tokens, placing the player on a waitlist for a console (6 months to a year during the prototype phase, up to 6 months during Alpha testing, and 1 month during Beta testing).

2. Philosophical Foundation: The Four Noble Truths

2.1. Suffering Exists

Aging, illness, and death are companions of human existence. In a world torn apart by the “economy of disasters,” these sufferings are amplified, fueling illusions and dividing people. PureLand acknowledges this truth, inviting players to see suffering not as a curse but as a teacher pointing the way to liberation from these afflictions.

2.2. The Cause of Suffering—The Three Poisons

Greed, anger, and ignorance are fueled by exploitative systems that encourage avarice and destroy harmony. In the Omniverse, we dispel these illusions, replacing the current “economy of disasters” with Buddhist economics, where every action serves the well-being of all beings. Instead of hoarding for the ego, we offer generosity for unity.

2.3. Liberation Is Possible

Enlightenment is the cessation of suffering. Through mindful gameplay, players overcome illusions and imperfections, growing physically and spiritually. PureLand employs Buddhist science and the best available health-preserving and eco-friendly technologies (quantum technologies, integrative medicine) to create a space where each step brings players closer to the Pure Lands of Buddha Amitabha (the Heavenly Kingdom or Paradise, in other terminologies).

2.4. The Path to Liberation—The Noble Eightfold Path

The Noble Eightfold Path, taught by the Buddha—the “Unsurpassed Teacher of gods and humans”—is the heart of our game. According to the Buddha, the path to the cessation of suffering must be “cultivated.” To cultivate this path, the gaming community uses the tools of “Trisiksha” (Three Trainings): ethics (sila), concentration (samadhi), and wisdom (prajna).

Right view, intention, speech, action, livelihood, effort, mindfulness, and concentration are woven into every mechanic: from compassionate quests and meditations in virtual temples to prototyping and creating real-world infrastructure objects for the game. PureLand takes on the mission of spreading Buddhist economics, uniting material, mental, and moral well-being, across the world. Players collaborate, build communities, advance Buddhist science, overcome illusions, and progress toward Enlightenment and immortality for the benefit of all beings.

3. Mission: A Society of Abundance and Co-Creation

PureLand is not just a game but a heroic saga of creating a new world built on Buddhist economics. Here, every action matters—whether planting a virtual garden, helping another player, or testing the game—your efforts earn KARMA tokens, strengthening an economy of generosity. Farms and factories created in the game produce real, eco-friendly products. Children and adults spend time meaningfully, developing their abilities and meeting their needs while designing and building game infrastructure, creating new locations and artworks. All of this is organized as non-fungible tokens (NFTs), which players own under the principles of Buddhist economics, participating in the platform’s decentralized autonomous organization (DAO).

Buddhist science inspires: Quantum technologies for eco-technological modernization of human activity, eco-friendly life-support systems to meet all vital needs of the gaming community, quantum wave genetics (Buddhist medicine) for absolute health and immortality, and vimanas for overcoming distances and interstellar travel—these are the fruits of mindfulness, aimed at preserving nature, achieving Enlightenment, and saving all sentient beings.

The community shapes the future: The PureLand Omniverse is a convergence of physical, augmented, and virtual realities in a shared online space, grounded in Dharma norms and Web3 technologies (blockchain, smart contracts, NFTs, neural networks, DAO, and dApps—decentralized autonomous organizations and applications). It is a bridge between the real and physical worlds with near-limitless possibilities. Through the DAO, the PureLand gaming community can participate in shaping and managing the game and in-game projects, voting and contributing to initiatives that bring the Pure Lands of Amitabha (the Heavenly Kingdom) closer. KARMA, PureLand’s native cryptocurrency, and all in-game assets are stored on the blockchain (Solana and Dfinity, with role distribution).

4. Core Principles

A. The Game as a Spiritual Practice

The developers of the Omniverse’s transformative games—Tathagatas and spiritual practitioners—have created a remedy for mental afflictions and a therapy for the mind. The game is a tool for developing various human abilities for a better, happier life. They have gifted us new worlds, which we begin to perceive only as we approach health and Enlightenment. On the path to Enlightenment, all games in the Omniverse adhere to two key postulates of Buddhist methodology from the Shaolin tradition:

“Unity of Spirit and Body” (Ken Zen Ichi Nyo - Japanese)

“Ken” symbolizes the body, “Zen” the spirit. We often think spirit and body are separate, but in reality, they are deeply connected. When we are surprised, our heart races. When we are ill, not only does our body weaken, but our mood and interest in activity also decline. These examples show how closely linked our body and spirit are. During gameplay, maintaining a balance between training the body and spirit prevents the effects of cyber-addiction. This is the key to harmonious development—simultaneous transformation of spirit and body, unlocking our hidden potential. This is the Unity of Spirit and Body.

The first postulate teaches the development of both spirit and body. For example, in ChessVerse, players cultivate the “Unity of Spirit and Body” by solving strategic challenges (training the mind) and performing qigong exercises in VR (training the body). In RescueVerse or ShaolinPathVerse, the “Unity of Strength and Love” manifests in quests where players use strength (survival skills) and love (helping others) to save virtual beings.

“Unity of Strength and Love” (Riki Ai Fu Ni - Japanese)

The second postulate of the Shaolin tradition embedded in the game teaches that life cannot be happy with only love and compassion; intellect and strength are also necessary. If you see someone being harmed and wish to help out of love and compassion, you will be powerless without courage and strength. Conversely, strength without love and compassion is mere cruelty. To combat evil and injustice, you must first distinguish right from wrong, then assess the situation and apply your skills with bold resistance.

Shaolin Patriarch Doshin So said: “Justice without strength is weakness. Strength without justice is cruelty.” For successful game practice, you must harmonize your strength and love, unite intellect and compassion, and use them as the foundation of your actions. You must make your life happy and stable while actively contributing to peace and societal prosperity.

Buddava (Game Account)—A Digital Reflection of Your Path:

The Buddava tracks:

  • Meditation level (KARMA points).
  • Skills (sutras, qigong, kung fu, Buddhist science).
  • Health (biometrics via IoT consoles’ bio-neuro interfaces).
  • Good deeds (helping players, contributions to development).

Educational Environment:

  • Alignment with psychosocial and physical development.
  • Comfortable learning conditions.
  • Independent and group work to stimulate creative potential and self-development.
  • Talent identification through quests, eco-projects, and R&D.

Programs of the University of Nalanda and Shaolin Monastery:

To ensure high-quality education (in any form), regularly updating and expanding methods and forms of game-based learning and development, the programs of the University of Nalanda and its affiliate, the Shaolin Monastery, are applied:

  • Courses: meditation, Buddhist medicine, kung fu, civic sciences (quantum physics, eco-psychology, etc.).
  • NFT diplomas, recognized in Buddhist economics and game infrastructure (including real factories, research labs, training centers, health facilities, and retreat centers).

Education quality is measured through the Buddava system, which tracks player progress (e.g., number of studied sutras, meditation hours) and uses AI to adapt individual learning paths through tasks and quests to maintain motivation.

6. KARMA Economy

Karma is action, where cause and effect are inseparable. Inspired by the Buddha’s Sanhita Sutta, we classify karma:

  • Dark Karma (greed, anger): Reduces access to quests.
  • Light Karma (help, practice): Unlocks rare NFTs.
  • Mixed Karma: Provides moderate rewards.
  • Karma Leading to Cessation: Brings one closer to Enlightenment.

Accumulated karma is evaluated by algorithms based on these criteria and reflected in the Buddava (game account), influencing the player’s status and opportunities. If a player acts out of greed (e.g., hoarding KARMA tokens without helping others) or violates right speech (e.g., harsh or false statements in public or chats), their Buddava accumulates “dark karma,” limiting access to advanced quests (e.g., participation in the Council of Star Navigation). Light karma (e.g., helping in RescueVerse or practicing generosity) unlocks rare NFTs like “Amitabha Mantra” or “Sukhavati Lotus.”

Tokenomics (on Solana and Dfinity):

  • Sanchita Karma: Total KARMA balance.
  • Prarabdha Karma: Matured karma manifesting now or soon.
  • Kriyamana Karma: Current actions as investments in the future.
  • Agama Karma: Intentions shaping the future.

The four types of karma are stored in the repository of karmic seeds (Alaya-vijnana).

Earning KARMA Tokens:

  • In-Game Missions: Meditations, quests, sutra study, testing locations and consoles.
  • Social Missions: Moderation, helping players, DAO voting, inviting friends.
  • Creative Missions: Creating objects, scenarios, music, art content, R&D.
  • Ecological Missions: Planting virtual trees, forest restoration, cleaning polluted areas.

KARMA tokens are rewards for actions embodying Dharma principles (nonviolence, mindfulness, compassion) and contributing to spiritual growth, ecological well-being, and infrastructure development. Each successful in-game action or step on the Noble Eightfold Path leads to liberation from the cycle of rebirths and is rewarded with KARMA tokens, reinforcing the path to Enlightenment and abundance. Earning is divided into four inspiring paths, each opening new horizons:

6.1. In-Game Missions: Play to Earn!

Hone your skills and collect rewards by diving into exciting quests across metaverses! Test the game and consoles, refine strategic mastery, or practice meditation with VR retreats. Complete tasks (from overcoming illusions in the Samsara World to creating healing gardens), enhance your Buddava, and earn KARMA tokens for each step toward Enlightenment.

6.2. Social Missions: Share to Earn!

Spread kindness and reap karmic fruits! Invite friends to PureLand, share your successes on social media, and watch your light karma grow. Build communities, translate sutras or koans, and earn bonus KARMA tokens for strengthening social bonds and spreading Dharma, inspiring others on the path of mindfulness.

6.3. Creative Missions: Create to Earn!

Craft in-game objects, scenarios, music, and art content. Participate in developing locations and game infrastructure. Advancing innovation through ethical R&D (e.g., developing neurotechnologies or consoles) grants access to cutting-edge gadgets and doubles your merits!

6.4. Ecological Missions: Save to Earn!

Leave a mark in the real world and accumulate merits! Engage in rescue missions and ecological initiatives—turn waste into graphene at factories in Places of the Path, plant trees, build farms with real harvests, or support retreats. Apply Buddhist practices (qigong, meditation) in daily life, sync with virtual quests, advance Buddhist science and economics, and create positive karmic imprints. Your real-world actions (from cleaning nature to implementing Buddhist technologies like eco-technological modernization of eco-settlements and monasteries) directly impact the game, earning KARMA tokens and supporting ecosystem restoration.

A detailed list of activities with rewards and ways to spend KARMA tokens is available in the White Paper and Game Design Document (GDD).

KARMA tokens are issued as SPL tokens on Solana for fast transactions (e.g., NFT purchases) and stored on Dfinity for long-term data (e.g., karmic achievement records), synchronized via a cross-chain bridge. Further details are provided in the White Paper.

Burn Mechanism: 10% of tokens are burned upon NFT purchases, with new tokens issued via DAO to prevent inflation.

7. Role of Buddhist Economics

Buddhist Economics—The Foundation of the Pure Lands:

The PureLand Omniverse unites all its metaverses (AshokaVerse, ChessVerse, VeganVerse, etc.), connected by a unified Buddhist economy—a system where players become true owners of the game and its benefits through a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO). Together, they create and develop infrastructure, embodying Dharma principles (nonviolence, mindfulness, compassion). They design new game locations, develop cutting-edge technologies, create high-tech gadgets (IoT consoles), and produce artworks that become non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and serve as skillful means (upaya kushala). Supported by Web3 technologies (e.g., Solana or Dfinity blockchain), PureLand’s Buddhist economics funds global projects like ecosystem restoration and eco-settlement support.

Eco-Friendly and Spiritual Infrastructure:

The PureLand Omniverse is unique in its infrastructure and autonomous life-support system, built on the most eco-friendly and advanced quantum technologies. Virtual spaces (dojos, creative labs) and physical nodes (Sukhavati Retreat Residences) integrate renewable energy (fuel-free graphene generators), autonomous phyto-factories, and eco-friendly solutions (biomimetic filters, waste-to-graphene recycling). These systems ensure player health, promote longevity, and advance biological immortality through integrative Buddhist medicine (epigenetic technologies, linguistic-wave genetics). The entire infrastructure adheres to Dharma norms, where a pure land is not only a state of a peaceful mind but also a tangible space of harmony created by the gaming community.

Global Harmony Project:

The gaming and Buddhist community joins forces to realize a global project—creating the Pure Lands (or Heavenly Kingdom, Paradise on Earth). Through Buddhist economics and KARMA tokenomics, players restore ecosystems (mangrove planting, regenerative agriculture), foster cross-cultural social bonds (Buddhists, Christians, Muslims), and support ecological initiatives via crowdfunding and syncing virtual quests with real projects (KarmaCycle). Through DAO, players vote on funding new metaverses or ecological projects, distributing up to 1 million KARMA monthly, fostering mutual understanding, peace, and harmony.

Access to Knowledge and Technology:

Buddhist economics grants everyone access to a treasury of knowledge and technology: from ancient practices (qigong, meditation) to the latest quantum science advancements (quantum energy, neural networks). Players can learn, participate in ethical R&D, and fairly distribute benefits, products, and services. The Omniverse ensures daily KARMA token rewards for all participants—from developers to newcomers—for their contributions to spiritual growth, ecology, and innovation. Regardless of location or occupation, anyone can access the gaming community’s benefits: quantum medicine for painless longevity, blockchain for transparency, or neurotechnologies for mental health. Thought leaders and platforms (DharmaVoice) disseminate ancient wisdom and modern innovations, making them accessible to all.

Right to Health and Immortality:

PureLand affirms every individual’s fundamental right to health, interpreted as the right to painless longevity and the pursuit of biological immortality, through integrative Buddhist medicine and technology. The integration of health-preserving technologies and Buddhist practices enhances the community’s physical, spiritual, and emotional well-being. The Omniverse becomes a bridge between ancient wisdom and humanity’s future, where everyone can achieve harmony, health, and Enlightenment.

C. Social Graph

In the PureLand Metaverse, the social graph unites all who aspire to Enlightenment, harmony, and liberation from suffering. It is an egalitarian community where every player who activates their Buddava becomes an equal co-creator and guardian of the game. There are no privileged—only those whose actions, inspired by the Noble Eightfold Path, contribute to the collective good. From Masters of Dharma to nature protectors, from children to sages, each member is part of the great Sangha, where support, compassion, and co-creation build the Pure Lands. Together, we create a world of abundance, free from violence and egoism, bringing happiness and causes for happiness to all beings. Players can form guilds (e.g., “Defenders of VeganVerse”) to collaborate on ecological quests, earning bonus KARMA tokens for teamwork.

9. Commitments to Players

  • Ecology: Each NFT is part of the game’s eco-friendly infrastructure, tied to environmental projects.
  • Technology: The best available health-preserving and eco-friendly solutions.
  • Inclusivity: Support for 20 languages, including Sanskrit.
  • Decentralization: Web3 for transparency and independent development.
  • Dharma Alignment: All mechanics adhere to nonviolence principles.

Updates: Monthly quests, locations, and global events (e.g., “World Meditation Day”) to keep players engaged. All DAO decisions are published on the blockchain (Solana/Dfinity) and accessible for review via a public interface on the PureLand website.

Councils:

  • High Council of Dharmic Wisdom (AshokaVerse): A gathering of distinguished scholars and sages dedicated to researching and embodying Dharma-Vidya—sacred knowledge uniting Buddhist philosophy, science, and spiritual practice. This Council is the spiritual and intellectual core of the PureLand Omniverse, holding the decisive vote in strategic matters shaping the ecosystem and its metaverses. This right can only be restricted by the Council of Harmony and Protection if security threats or deviations from Dharma principles are identified, ensuring a balance between wisdom and protection.
  • High Council of Harmony and Protection (ShaolinPathVerse): Comprising Shaolin masters and warrior monks, this Council ensures the safety of physical and digital nodes, as well as the spiritual and technological integrity of Buddhist economics and the PureLand Omniverse. It has the authority to restrict the first Council’s decisions if risks are detected (e.g., cyberattacks or ecological threats), safeguarding the ecosystem’s integrity.
